Pitchers

Michael Donals ,561 Ghost / Uncommitted (RHP,2027)

Twitchy right-hander with a compact, intentful operation on the mound. Rides the backside extremely well down the slope while creating deception through a closed upper half and quick arm action. Fastball worked up to 91 mph with quality ride through the zone. High-follow uncommitted arm in the 2027 class.

Fastball (4SFB)

-              Avg Velo: 87.3 mph | T 91.9 mph

-              Avg Spin: 2145 rpm

-              Avg Movement: 12.9” HB | 17.4” IVB

-      Pitch Profile: Shows quality ride through the top of the zone with enough vertical shape to create some late life. Velocity plays well off the movement profile, and the pitch shows traits to miss bats when he works it up and lets the shape play.

Change up (CH)

-              Avg Velo: 82 mph | T 85 mph

-              Avg Spin: 2068 rpm

-              Avg Movement: 0.7” HB | 4.4” IVB

-      Pitch Profile: Shows good separation off the fastball with fading action that helps disrupt timing. The pitch has some natural depth through the zone and flashes the traits to generate weak contact when located at the bottom of the zone.

Curveball (CB)

-              Avg Velo: 75 mph | T 77 mph

-              Avg Spin: 2175 rpm

-              Avg Movement: -12.5” HB | -13.4” IVB

-      Pitch Profile: Shows solid top-to-bottom shape with enough depth to change eye level and keep hitters off balance. Creates good separation off the fastball and has the makings of a reliable secondary when he lands it consistently for strikes or expands below the zone.

The athleticism and ability to create deception is intriguing, as he continues to refine his craft/sharpen the arsenal. Look for him to excel at a high rate.

Luciano Grasso,DLC Academy / Uncommitted (RHP,2027)

Athletic two-way prospect with a quick arm from a lower slot and efficient tempo throughout the delivery. Really rides down the mound and consistently works east-west with strong command to the arm side. Fastball showed quality life through the zone while the breaking ball tunneled well off the heater with sharp action.

 Fastball (4SFB)

-              Avg Velo: 85 mph | T 88.4 mph

-              Avg Spin: 2402 rpm

-              Avg Movement: 5.3” HB | 17” IVB

-      Pitch Profile: Shows good carry through the zone with a movement profile that lets the pitch play above its velocity at times. More dependent on shape than pure power, and it projects best when he works to the top of the zone and trusts the natural life.

Slider (SL)

-              Avg Velo: 71.1 mph | T 72 mph

-              Avg Spin: 2146 rpm

-              Avg Movement: - 5” HB | -1.3” IVB

-      Pitch Profile: Shows tighter, shorter-breaking action with more feel-based shape than a true power breaker. Works well as a timing disruptor and has a chance to be an effective secondary when mixed in early or located at the knees to induce softer contact.

The arm slot paired with a good looking two-pitch mix is an exciting feature. The frame look projectable which hints at future velocity gains.

Liam Magun
,Scorpions South Florida / Uncommitted (RHP,2028)

Athletic mover on the mound with strong direction down the slope and a high 3/4 release. Fastball showed late running life through the zone while attacking hitters aggressively. Slider paired well off the heater with short, late action and swing-and-miss potential.

 Fastball (4SFB)

-              Avg Velo: 85.1 mph | T 87.1 mph

-              Avg Spin: 2349 rpm

-              Avg Movement: 10.5” HB | 13.7” IVB

-      Pitch Profile: Shows natural arm-side movement with enough life through the zone to keep hitters from getting clean looks. The pitch plays off its movement traits, with its best results coming when he works it around the zone and lets the action create weaker contact.

Slider (SL)

-              Avg Velo: 75.7 mph | T 76.7 mph

-              Avg Spin: 2200 rpm

-              Avg Movement: -7.3” HB | 3.3” IVB

-      Pitch Profile: Shows short, lateral action with a tighter break that gives it some sweep across the zone. The lower velocity creates good separation off the fastball, and it has the makings of a usable secondary when he gets it to the glove side or expands off the plate for chase.

Change up (CH)

-              Avg Velo: 79.8 mph | 80.8 T mph

-              Avg Spin: 1602 rpm

-              Avg Movement: 16.2” HB | 6.4” IVB

-      Pitch Profile: Shows strong separation off the fastball with noticeable arm-side fade and some depth through the zone. The lower spin helps it kill speed and maintain that fading action, and it has the traits to be an effective off-speed option when kept down and thrown with intent to the arm side.

Younger arm with a legit 3-pitch mix that is backed with stuff, has time to continue to mature. Expect him to have a progressive summer and a name to follow.

Caleb Butler,West Boynton Cobras / Uncommitted (RHP,2027)

Efficient mover with smooth tempo and controlled pace down the mound. Operates with slight crossfire action that helps create deception and hide the baseball. Fastball features natural cut while the slider flashes swing-and-miss traits. Tough look for hitters with continued upside.

 Fastball (CT)

-              Avg Velo: 85.1 mph | T 87.1 mph

-              Avg Spin: 2275 rpm

-              Avg Movement: -3” HB | 10” IVB

-      Pitch Profile: Shows a smooth, controlled delivery with a slight cut action that helps add deception. The cutter shape gives it late action, and it plays well off the slider to keep hitters from getting good swings. Has feel to work it to both sides of the plate and stay unpredictable in the zone

Slider (SL)

-              Avg Velo: 70.5 mph | T 71.7 mph

-              Avg Spin: 2295 rpm

-              Avg Movement: -16.2” HB | 4.1” IVB

-      Pitch Profile: Shows tight, sweeping action with late bite that can get off barrels.

Lower velocity helps it separate from the rest of the mix, and it works well when he gets it to the glove side. Has feel to land it for strikes or expand off the plate as a chase pitch.

Intriguing arm due to the CT/SL combo, appears to be natural cut. If being able to command both at a higher rate, there high success in many bullpens.

Antonio Guerrero,Elv8 Academy / Uncommitted (RHP,2029)

High-level young arm with plenty of projection remaining. Already up to 87 mph with a loose, whippy arm action from a high three-quarter slot. Smooth tempo throughout the delivery with aggressive intent at foot strike. Fastball shows strong life while the curveball flashes quality depth. Fun follow in the 2029 class.

Fastball (4SFB)

-              Avg Velo: 83.2 mph | T 87 mph

-              Avg Spin: 2057 rpm

-              Avg Movement: 8.3” HB | 15.3” IVB

-      Pitch Profile: Shows solid carry through the zone with enough life to play at the top when he gets it there. The shape helps it get on hitters quickly, and it can miss barrels when located up. Shows feel to challenge hitters in the zone, with plenty of room for the pitch to keep trending as he continues to mature physically.

Curveball (CB)

-              Avg Velo: 68.3 mph | T 72.9 mph

-              Avg Spin: 2062 rpm

-              Avg Movement: - 9.3” HB | -11.5” IVB

-      Pitch Profile: Shows good depth with downward break that gives it solid separation. Plays best when kept below the zone, where it can get hitters out front and generate chase. Projects well as a secondary piece, with more consistency likely to come as he continues to develop.

Fun arm to follow over the next few years, live arm with good pitch shapes. The body will continue to mature which will be interesting to see how he progresses.
