FUTURES SHOWCASE FAQ (13U-14U)

What is the Futures Showcase? 

A development-focused showcase for 13–14 year old players designed to introduce athletes to the pro-style showcase environment and help them begin building a verified player profile before high school. 

 

Is this a recruiting event? 

No. College coaches are not recruiting or offering scholarships. Coaches work directly with players to provide instruction, feedback, and insight into how players are evaluated as they progress. 

 

Who should attend? 

Players in the 13U or 14U age groups who want to: 

  • Prepare for high school baseball 
  • Learn how showcases work 
  • Build a baseline player profile 

 

What is the showcase format? 

A Pro-Style Workout including: 

  • Athletic testing 
  • Defensive evaluation 
  • Batting practice 
  • Pitching evaluation (if applicable) 

Live games may be included at select events. 

 

How many positions can a player showcase? 

  • One primary defensive position 
  • Two-way players may also pitch 

 

How many swings does each player get? 

Two rounds of batting practice: 

  • Round 1: 4 swings 
  • Round 2: 8 swings 

 

How are pitchers evaluated? 

  • Pitcher-only: 15 pitches 
  • Two-way players: 12 pitches 
    Pitch limits are age-appropriate and monitored. 

 

What does my player receive? 

  • Verified metrics 
  • Professional workout video 
  • A Prospect Select player profile 

 

Is social media exposure included? 

Yes. Select metrics and video may be shared on Prospect Select’s social platforms. 

 

How long is the event? 

Approximately half a day, depending on event size and position group. 

 

Is the event open to everyone? 

Yes. Prospect Select Showcases are open to any and all entrants and limited only by age, grade level, or gender as described.
