How long is the showcase? 

Each player will attend for approximately half of the day. Larger events may be divided into sessions by position to ensure quality evaluation and exposure. 

Are there differences by age group? 

No. All Prospect Select Showcases follow the same evaluation structure regardless of age group. 

What is the showcase format? 

All showcases follow a Pro-Style Workout, including athletic testing, defensive evaluations by position, batting practice, and pitching evaluations. Live gameplay is included at select events only. 

What will players do during the pro-style workout? 

Players will participate in: 

• 30-yard & 60-yard dash 
• Defensive evaluations at their primary position 
• Batting practice 
• Pitching evaluations (if applicable) 
• 
  

How many swings does each player get in batting practice? 

Players receive two rounds of BP: 

• 1 round of 4 swings 
• 1 round of 8 swings 

How many defensive reps does each player get? 

• Outfielders: 4 total throws (2 to 3rd base, 2 to home) 
• Infielders: 5 groundballs (2 to 1st base, 2 double-play feeds, 1 slow roller) 
• Catchers: 5 total throws (1 practice throw, 4 live throws) 

How many positions can a player showcase? 

• Position Players: One primary defensive position 
• Two-Way Players: One defensive position plus a pitching evaluation 
• Pitcher-Only Players: Pitching evaluation only (no defensive workout) 

How are pitchers evaluated? 

• Pitcher-Only Players: Up to 15 pitches 
• Two-Way Players: Up to 12 pitches 
  When games are played: 
• Pitcher-Only Players may throw up to 2 innings 
• Two-Way Players may throw up to 1 inning 

Who can attend? 

All high school-aged players are eligible. Both uncommitted and committed players may attend. 

How many college coaches attend? 

Prospect Select Showcases consistently feature 15–20 college coaches, unless restricted by NCAA dead periods. 

Are scholarships or offers guaranteed? 

No. Prospect Select does not guarantee scholarships, offers, or commitments. 

When are metrics posted? 

All verified metrics are posted within 24 hours of the event. Only the best recorded metric remains on a player’s profile across all Prospect Select events. 

When is video available? 

Professional video is typically uploaded 2–3 weeks after the event. 

Do all players receive video? 

Yes. All players receive workout video. Select gameplay clips are included when games are played. 

Is social media exposure included? 

Yes. All batting practice and bullpen video is posted to Prospect Select’s X account. Additional features are based on metric thresholds. 

Can players talk to college coaches at the event? 

Yes. Players may interact with coaches on-site. Prospect Select does not provide coach contact information. 

What happens if weather affects the event? 

Weather cancellations result in a credit toward a future event. Partial credits apply if an event is shortened. 

What equipment should players bring? 

Players should bring their own gear, including bat, catcher’s gear (if applicable), and both turf shoes and cleats. 

Is this event NCAA compliant? 

Yes. Prospect Select Showcases are open to any and all entrants and are limited only by number, age, grade level, or gender as described.
