His FB had some ASR, working effectively to both edges of the plate. The SL had depth and late movement, consistently disrupting hitters’ timing. Zack Schwartz (‘27, FL) • SS • Uncommitted • 5’7 135lb
4.2 IP / 0 H / 0 R / 2 BB / 5 K
Schwartz was dialed in to start the tournament for his team. Great ability to attack the strike zone and keep the opposition off balance. Able to create a lot of weak contact. This fit RHP, works w/ a medium leg lift, compact stroke and H ¾ delivery. Good two pitch mix w/ great tunneling and deceiving crossbody delivery. Good player to keep an eye on as he continues to develop and mature.

Brayden McNeese
(‘26, GA) • LHP • Uncommitted • 5’9 15lbs
The crafty left-handed had one of the most impressive outings seen in today’s matchups, showing great deception and command of all pitches, all throughout his complete game shutout. He worked with a relaxed tempo and smooth rhythm throughout his delivery. Starts tall with a slight coil at balance, then uncoils down the mound with clean direction and a smooth finish. Arm action is loose and uninterrupted, coming out of a high three-quarter slot with consistent timing. Fastball jumps out of the hand with sneaky life and late finish up in the zone. Repeats well and dots the zone with all pitches. Showed ability to go deep into games without showing signs of fatigue

Johnn Hoban (‘27, MA) RHP • 6’0” 170lb
Line: 7 IP, 5H, 1ER, 3BB, 4K
Hoban delivered a complete game outing, showcasing mature pitchability and mound awareness. The right-hander mixed tempos and deliveries to keep hitters off balance, generating consistent weak contact. Hoban worked efficiently through 7 innings, showing solid command and attacking the zone early in counts. His fastball played up with deception, and he showed feel for spinning off-speed offerings to disrupt timing. Poised presence and a competitive edge make him a reliable arm with upside as he continues to develop.

Jose Batista (‘27, FL) • C • Uncommitted • 5’11” 170
2-3, 2B, RBI, R
2B: 86 mph
Batista flashed on both sides of the plate Friday. In the first inning, he crushed a double down the third base line to drive in the first run of the game. Defensively, he held baserunners in check, presented the ball well, and caught 2 pitchers that combined to throw a shutout. Batista is very athletic for a backstop. He has strong legs, quick hands, and creates great stretch in his swing. Batista has impressive power now, and projects for more as he fills out. A guy for college teams to make note of.

Lucas Romero (‘26, FL) • LHP • Uncommitted • 6’0” 140
6.1 IP: 0ER, 4H, 2BB, 5K
Romero shoved for Tornadoes Baseball 17U on Friday, pitching into the 7th inning, allowing zero earned runs in the victory. Romero stands 6’ tall with long legs and a projectable build. He has great deception in his delivery, using a high leg kick and starting with his arm low behind his body before releasing the pitch from an OT slot. It is tough for the batter to pick up the ball out of his hand. Romero used a 3-pitch mix in the outing, featuring a fastball with a lot of arm-side run, a changeup with great fade that made right-handed hitters look foolish, and a curveball with 12-6 break used sparingly. Romero works fast and has a clear plan of attack. He is an intriguing left-handed starting pitcher with room to grow.

Joshua Jakubowicz
(‘27, FL) • LHP • Uncommitted • 6’3” 194
3.1 IP: 0ER, 1H, 10K
Jakubowicz overpowered hitters in his start on Friday. He pitched 3.1 innings, allowing zero earned runs while recording every out via the strikeout. Jakubowicz utilizes a 3-pitch mix with a fastball that gets on hitters, a frisbee sweeper, and a changeup with depth. He has a free and easy delivery from a tall, athletic frame. Jakoubowicz has a high ceiling and will contribute to a college baseball program in a couple years.

Westyn Byrd (‘27, FL) • RHP • Uncommitted • 6’ 160lb
6.2 IP / 1 H / 0 R / 3 BB / 4 K
Great performance from this young RHP. Byrd was able to create a lot of weak contact and some swings and misses as he struck out four players from the opposite team. He was able to mix pitches and pitch to contact giving his team a chance in today’s game. A good player to keep an eye on as he has ton of room to grow and has a lot left to develop.

4IP / 1H / 1R / BB / 5K
FB: 85-87 T88 / 2100-2300 rpm
CH: 79-81 mph / 7-9” HB
SL: 74-76 mph / 2300-2300 rpm / 12” HB
Foss continues to impress as the summer goes on with another outstanding performance. Racking up 5K over 4IP, with plenty of swing and miss results to add onto an impressive day. His control of all three pitches shows in the stat line, only walking one batter. With a FB that reaches the upper 80s and a projectible frame, it wouldn’t be surprising to see a velocity jump before the end of his senior year.

RHP has a selective three pitch mix that can be thrown in any count. FB runs up to the high 80’s w/ sink, paired w/ fading CH. SL features vast horizontal movement that breaks late to the plate. Consistent strike thrower, repeatable mechanics.

Jackson Wainscott (‘27, FL) • OF • Uncommitted • 6’0” 190lb
2-2 / 1 SB
Wainscott starting the tournament strong with 2 base knocks and a stolen base to help his team stay in the game this morning. Wainscott athleticism and physicality gives him a strong presence in the box, also his ability to use the whole field to his advantage makes him a threat at the plate. Not only is he able to hit the ball extremely well, but also is able to run the bases and put pressure on the opposition with the constant threat of a stolen base. Great player to keep an eye on as the tournament unravels.

Guthrie delivered an outstanding performance during today’s game as he came in to keep the game close, and he delivered. Not only were his pitching talents outstanding but he helped his team by delivering the knock to bring in the go-ahead runs. This RHP had great presence at the bump, and his skills and elite movement on his FB helped him and his team to have a dominant performance. An impressive player to keep track of as he continues to mature and develop.
