Pitchers
Dominic Ferreira, CBU 2027 Scout Team McCoy, Uncommitted (RHP, 2027)
Projectable 6’3 athletic frame and a four pitch mix that allowed him to attack hitters in multiple ways. Has tons of confidence on the mound. He rides his back side well through the delivery and has a cross body finish that creates deception and helps the ball jump out of his hand. Showed confidence in the curveball, landing it for strikes and using it to finish hitters.
Fastball
- Avg Velo: 87.3 mph | T 91 mph
- Avg Spin: 2100 rpm
- Avg Movement: 7.6 HB | 17 IVB
- Pitch Profile: Ferreira’s fastball was the foundation of his arsenal. It has plenty of carry through the zone with 17 IVB while maintaining plenty of arm side movement combined with his cross body delivery. The mix of extension, movement, and deception allowed this pitch to generate tons of uncomfortable swings.
Curveball
- Avg Velo: 71.6 mph | T 72 mph
- Avg Spin: 2100 rpm
- Avg Movement: -6.2 HB | -12.3 IVB
- Pitch Profile: The curve gives hitters a much different look from the fastball and worked well as a change of pace pitch and using it to create deception especially after establishing the heater.
Slider
- Avg Velo: 75 mph | T 76 mph
- Avg Spin: 1850 rpm
- Avg Movement: -4.0 HB |
- Pitch Profile: The slider served as a great option for him to use and gave hitters a tighter breaking look to think about compared to the curveball. While not used as frequently, it added another layer to the arsenal and allowed him to show multiple different breaking looks.
Changeup
- Avg Velo: 82 mph | T 85 mph
- Avg Spin 2100 rpm
- Avg Movement: 11.2 HB |
- Pitch Profile: The changeup was an interesting pitch because of its high spin but tons of movement, it gave hitters problems and was hard for them to barrel up. It was a great option for him to also be able to deploy.
Dominic showed a very mature pitching profile, highlighted by his four pitch mix and distinct cross body delivery. His combination of present stuff, movement, and feel for pitching made him a nightmare for opposing hitters all weekend. The curve, slider, and change each gave different looks to hitters allowing Ferreira to keep them from getting comfortable in the box. Combined with a projectable frame and deceptive delivery, he showed the type of arsenal and pitchability to continue to progress and draw attention moving forward.

Owen Lenzen,
Florida Dodgers Scout, Uncommitted, (3B/RHP, 2028)
A true physical presence on the mound, he displays great traits as a power arm. His true three pitch mix gave hitters fits all day, highlighted by his fastball that reached 90 multiple times. That pitch kept hitters honest as he also showed them a very low spin split/change that would drop off at the last second and also a tight spinning curveball that had plenty of depth.
Fastball
- Avg Velo: 88.4 mph | T 90mph
- Avg Spin: 2200 rpm
- Avg Movement: 6.8 HB | 18.74 IVB
- Pitch Profile: Has great carry through the zone and plays and plays well in the upper half and stays above barrels. When he needed to make a pitch he would lean on the fastball, touching 90 multiple times on strikeouts. Has average armside movement but his power and extension makes it jump on hitters.
Changeup/Splitter
- Avg Velo: 80.2 mph | T 81mph
- Avg Spin: 1000 rpm
- Avg Movement: 12.6 HB | .72 IVB
- Pitch Profile: Plays really well off the fastball and has greatly reduced spin compared to it. It came down to ~900rpm multiple times and with very low IVB it gives the pitch a true sinking look that drops off at the last minute and creates a different look off the fastball. Projects as an extremely useful weapon moving forward that keeps hitters off balance.
Curveball
- Avg Velo: 71.4 mph | T 73mph
- Avg Spin: 2800rpm
- Avg Movement: -9.1 HB | -17.5 IVB
- Pitch Profile: A traditional curve that has sharp depth with high spin. Moves aggressively downward and has a heavy vertical separation compared to his fastball. It has a great combination of spin, depth, and gloveside movement that causes hitters to chase below the zone.
Lenzen showed a polished three pitch mix highlighted by a plus fastball with significant carry, a low spin splitter, and a high spin curveball with sharp depth. Combined with a very athletic and projectable frame, he attacked hitters with intent and authority with his over the top arm slot and showed why he continues to draw attention as a young arm with plenty of upside moving forward.

Logan Chatman, Canes Central 17u Scout, Uncommitted (RHP, 2027)
A fluid RHP with clean operation and a whippy arm action that allows the ball to jump out of his hand. Stays stacked throughout leg lift and maintains a repeatable motion throughout the delivery while working down the mound with intent. Repeats the operation well and shows feel for a really projectable three pitch mix.
Fastball (4SFB)
- Avg Velo: 88.6 mph | T 89 mph
- Avg Spin: 2100 rpm
- Avg Movement: 8.2 HB | 15.6 IVB
- Pitch Profile: Shows good blend of carry and armside movement through the zone/ Works upper 80s and with over 15 IVB it plays well in the upper half of the zone. The mix of ride and movement gives this pitch the ability to miss barrels and attack hitters early in counts.
Slider
- Avg Velo: 77 mph | T 72 mph
- Avg Spin: 1900 rpm
- Avg Movement: -2.7 HB | -5.6 IVB
- Pitch Profile: Has short and late break with moderate depth and enough shape and horizontal movement to create separation from the fastball. Projects as a solid secondary pitch that can generate chase and mess with hitters timing.
Changeup
- Avg Velo: 74.5 mph | T 75 mph
- Avg Spin: 1800 rpm
- Avg Movement: -2.1 HB | -1 IVB
- Pitch Profile: Shows good velocity separation off the fastball and has a lot of depth. Low spring and slight horizontal movement but drops off at the last minute. A very useful third pitch that gives hitters something else to think about.
Chatman showed a complete three pitch mix highlighted by his upper 80s fastball. Profile isn't built around raw stuff, more about having three pitches all with distinct shapes. The slider provides a quality secondary look with glove-side action and the changeup has enough velocity differential to keep hitters off balance. The fluid operation, athleticism, and ability to attack hitters with three different shapes makes him an intriguing uncommitted arm in the 2027 class.
https://play.ps-baseball.com/player-profile/baseball/0d64b790-cd14-4c98-b354-d1d2e6a08180
Samuel Lowe, East Cobb Astros Navy, University of West Alabama (RHP, 2027)
Big right RHP who operates from a three-quarter with whippy arm action and efficient lower half usage and rotation throughout the delivery. Has a feel for a complete three pitch mix and pitches with intent. The delivery creates deception and allows his secondary pitches to play effectively off the fastball.
Fastball
- Avg Velo: 86 mph | T 87 mph
- Avg Spin: 2000 rpm
- Avg Movement: 5.6 HB | 7.5 IVB
- Pitch Profile: His fastball worked in the upper 80s and was the foundation of his arsenal. The pitch shows enough movement to avoid barrels and allows him to establish the zone early in counts.
Slider
- Avg Velo: 74 mph | T 76 mph
- Avg Spin: 1900 rpm
- Avg Movement: 10.8 HB | -1.3 IVB
- Pitch Profile: A tight spinning slider that gives hitters a different look off of the fastball. He showed feel for the pitch and used it very effectively even early in counts and when he needed a strike.
Changeup
- Avg Velo: 78.6 mph | T 80 mph
- Avg Spin: 1400 rpm
- Avg Movement: 12.1 HB | 6.4 IVB
- Pitch Profile: Arguably his best pitch, it shows great movement across the zone with very noticeable fade and depth making it difficult for hitters to make good contact. The pitch plays really well off the rest of the mix and was a big reason he was able to keep hitters off balance.
Lowes ability to mix three pitches with different movement profiles was one of the more impressive aspects of his player profile. His fastball establishes the zone, the slider creates sweep to the glove side and the changeup is a good third option with plenty of movement giving hitters multiple looks during an at bat.

Kaz Matsuo, MVP New England, Uncommitted (RHP, 2029)
A very mature underclassman pitcher with an efficient and repeatable delivery and dynamic arm action. He did a great job of sequencing his fastball-slider combination, creating plenty of uncomfortable at bats and consistently getting hitters to expand the zone. Despite being a young pitcher, he showed advanced ability to spin the ball as well and attacked batters with a mature approach.
Fastball:
- Avg Velo: 85 mph | T 87 mph
- Avg Spin: 2100 rpm
- Avg Movement: 16.4 HB | 12 IVB
- Pitch Profile: Shows plenty of life through the zone while having elite horizontal movement that allowed this pitch to generate whiffs and plenty of weak contact. It plays great out of his compact delivery, jumping out of his hand and attacking hitters.
Slider:
- Avg Velo: 77 mph | T 80 mph
- Avg Spin: 2300 rpm
- Avg Movement: -15 HB | -13 IVB
- Pitch Profile: The slider stood out completely, especially with him being such a young arm. It had very sharp gloveside movement to go along with plenty of depth. The shape and spin characteristics made it generate tons of uncomfortable swings and gave him a reliable weapon when ahead in counts.
Matsuo’s combination of age and present ability was what stood out the most. He already shows plenty of velocity, pitch shapes, and natural spin that is typically seen in older players. The fastball and slider complement each other well, creating two very different movement profiles.
https://play.ps-baseball.com/player-profile/baseball/2fbb2f91-7d90-4ddd-a6ef-397f0d59b0c6
Nate Kessell, MVP New England Marucci 2028, Uncommitted (LHP, 2028)
Athletic southpaw with a legitimate three-pitch mix and advanced feel for sequencing. Worked with pace and attacked hitters early, running the fastball up to 87 mph with arm-side run while pairing it with a sharp slider and tumbling changeup. The low slot and crossfire delivery create deception and make for uncomfortable at-bats, allowing the arsenal to play up. High-follow uncommitted arm with plenty to like moving forward.
Fastball:
- Avg Velo: 85 mph | T 87 mph
- Avg Spin: 2000 rpm
- Avg Movement: -12.5 HB | 9.1 IVB
- Pitch Profile: A solid foundation for his arsenal, he relied on it to set the tone in at bats. It has great horizontal movement that allows it to jam lefties and move away from righties making it a legitimate swing and miss pitch.
Changeup:
- Avg Velo: 80 mph | T 82 mph
- Avg Spin: 1900 rpm
- Avg Movement: -17 HB | 11.2 IVB
- Pitch Profile: Played extremely well off his fastball with tons of horizontal movement and a big enough velocity differential to disrupt timing with hitters. Plays like a fastball out of his hand and just keeps diving low and away from righty bats.
Slider/Curveball:
- Avg Velo: 71 mph | T 72 mph
- Avg Spin: 2300 rpm
- Avg Movement: 10.7 HB | 5.9 IVB
- Pitch Profile: A tight spinning breaking ball, he was able to consistently land it in the zone for strikes in important counts. Showed great command with it and was a very reliable option off the fastball.
Kessell is a big, athletic left handed pitcher who works with intent and power. He works extremely fast on the mound which causes a lot of problems for hitters, especially coming out of his deceptive three quarter arm slot. He showed great ability to sequence pitches and generated a ton of whiffs against right handed hitters because of the run he is able to get on his fastball and changeup.
https://play.ps-baseball.com/player-profile/baseball/2fbb2f91-7d90-4ddd-a6ef-397f0d59b0c6
Tyler Wagner, On Deck O’s 17u Hill, Uncommitted (RHP, 2027)
Wagner is a big, physical RHP at 6’4, 205 who showed one of the more intriguing fastball profiles of the entire event. He works from a three-quarter arm slot with long whippy arm action while creating high quality arm-side movement and does a good job of attacking downhill.
Fastball:
- Avg Velo: 87 mph | T 90 mph
- Avg Spin: 2400 rpm
- Avg Movement: 17 HB | 13 IVB
- Pitch Profile: The fastball is the standout pitch. Working in the upper 80s and touching 90 a few times, it showed significant horizontal armside movement while maintaining enough carry and spin through the zone to get above barrels. The heater was something he constantly used to get ahead in counts.
Slider:
- Avg Velo: 76.7 mph | T 78 mph
- Avg Spin: 2100 rpm
- Avg Movement: 4.0 HB | 2.0 IVB
- Pitch Profile: The slider provided a solid option off of the fastball. It's a tighter slider that has action that plays well off the heater, giving hitters a different look and speed to account for.
His combination of size, arm action, and fastball movement makes him a very intriguing follow in the 2027 class. The fastball is currently the pitch carrying his arsenal, which shows both plenty of velocity and movement that makes it difficult for opposing hitters to get barrels on it. As he continues to develop physically and refine the secondary stuff, there is a solid foundation in place with the fastball that already shows high quality characteristics that should only strengthen as he adds velocity.

Keeps hitters of balance and flashed ability to get swings and misses with the fastball and breaking ball. He put together an impressive outing, striking out six guys while consistently keeping opposing hitters off balance.

Changeup:
- Avg Velo: 75.3 mph | T 76 mph
- Avg Spin: 850 rpm
- Avg Movement: -12.0 HB | -16 IVB
- Pitch Profile: The changeup was a great pitch to watch him deploy, the very low spin rate creates plenty of movement and separation off fastball and drops off the table at the last minute. It has a ton of movement both horizontal and depth.
Slider:
- Avg Velo: 75.8 mph | T 76 mph
- Avg Spin: 2450 rpm
- Avg Movement: 9.2 HB | 4.7 IVB
- Pitch Profile: The slider provided another distinct look within the mix. The higher spin characteristics helped create sharper breaking shape, allowing it to play well off the fastball.
Soltes showed a polished three pitch mix built around his fastball that plays with significant carry through the zone. The changeup stands out because of its movement profile and the ability to play off of the fastball. It drops off the table at the last second and generates a lot of whiffs and weak grounder, while the slider gives a great third look with a different shape. Combined with his athletic, repeatable delivery and arm slot, he consistently keeps hitters uncomfortable in the box. His ability to mix pitches, miss bats, and generate weak contact give him a very projectable foundation moving forward.

- Avg Movement: 6.7 HB | 13.9 IVB

It comes out of his hand with a ton of zip and is a pitch he has a lot of confidence in, using it to establish the zone throughout the weekend.
Slider
- Avg Velo: 75.4 mph | T 77
- Avg Spin: 2100
- Avg Movement: -7.5 HB | 0.3 IVB
- Pitch Profile: The slider was a tight spinner that served as his main secondary pitch. It had enough glove side movement to generate whiffs but was mostly used to generate weak contact and play off the fastball.
His size, athleticism, and ability to pitch effectively with two pitches projects him well. The fastball shows plenty of life in the zone to miss bats, while the slider was an extremely reliable secondary pitch with a totally different movement profile. The delivery is clean and repeatable, and he showed the ability to create weak contact and make hitters uncomfortable.

- LA: 29.8°
Physical 6’3” 210-pound right-hander with a fastball working in the mid-to-upper 80s and quality feel for the slider. Went to the breaking ball often throughout the outing, creating horizontal action and a tough look out of the hand for right-handed hitters. Sequences his pitches well, using the fastball/slider combination to his advantage with almost a 28” horizontal movement differential between the two pitches. Also displayed plus power at the plate with a 102.7 EV double. Intriguing uncommitted duel threat from South Carolina to follow.
