Ostingers Scout Day: Scout Notes

Coop Hinson ('24,FL) - Put together a solid workout yesterday. Ran well. Showed twitch and high intent per usual at the plate. Also posted a personal record with the arm from the OF which is always encouraging. Expect a big summer and loud senior year from the Ostinger and Bloomingdale Bull. Marshall University commit.

AJ Cruz ('26,FL) - Advanced 2026 with simply a great overall grasp of the game. Vocal leader. Barrel to ball skills. Sense of urgency with the glove. Lot to like about the young fielder already; projects for way more.

Blaine Rowland ('24,FL) - Yesterday, before his defensive round in the OF, the Gator commit asked Cheyn Bartels if anyone had hit triple digits and Cheyn replied "I don't think so" to which Rowland said "you're about to see it". He ended up with a respectable 98mph. Rowland later posted an electric bullpen getting up to 93.

Chase Anello ('26,FL) - Anello was a pleasant surprise in the 2026 group yesterday. He really stood out with the bat and had one of the best BP showings of the day; has the makings of a potential D1 bat. Sure fire college follow.

Akhil Nimmala ('24,FL) - The actions from Nimmala with the bat and from the field were sharp per usual during the Ostingers scout day. The defensive grade is just as good or close to his hit grade. Offensively showed an effortless hack into barrel release. There should be more 2024 MLB Draft talk/consideration moving forward. University of Central Florida commit.

Wade Walton ('24,FL) - The High Point commit put on an impressive bullpen showing. Pounded the zone with the big 3 offerings. Hard to come across that level of command and 3rd pitch development in a 6'5" frame. I'm interested to see how much velo Walton will tack on over the next few years; topping mid 9s is not out of the question in my opinion.

Guillermo Rivera ('24,FL) - Under the radar uncommitted catcher out of New Tampa. Has some rawness and projects for a lot more in all aspects, but Rivera has proven himself in live action and is going to produce in the right college program. Still available.
