Tucker Burns (‘30, FL) • RHP • 5’8” 145 lbs
4 IP / 1 H / 1 R / 2 BB / 7 K
Athletic RHP, Medium leg lift, full stroke and a H3/4 arm slot. High effort delivery. Good mixing of his pitches and good tunneling helped him have a great day at the bump holding off the opposite hitter to a lot of weak hit balls and only 1 hit. High whiff rate throughout the whole start. An arm to keep an eye for as he continues to mature and get stronger. Curveball had an amazing spin rate at an average of 2300+ rpm.

Harrison Kieffer (‘29, FL) • RHP • 5’10” • 135lb
Final Line: 3IP, 2H, 0R, 0BB, 4K
Kieffer put together a great start for CBU 2029 United Red, overpowering hitter after hitter with his FB up in the zone. He controlled the game with his smooth delivery and solid tempo. He was also able to tunnel his CB very well off of his high FB. A solid player to watch for the remainder of the weekend.

Dakota Labbe (‘30, FL) • LHP • 5’10” 155
5.1IP: 2H, 2BB, 7K, 0ER
Tall LHP pitching from high ¾ arm slot. Working exclusively out of the stretch, Labbe starts slightly closed off from the hitter, making it harder to pick up the ball out of his hand. He uses a high leg kick and a short, cross-body stride. Labbe’s fastball features great life up in the zone, missing bats. When hitters do make contact, it is generally weak contact. Labbe is an intriguing pitcher with great size and a good fastball.

Carson Long (‘29, FL) • RHP/CF • 5’8” • 145lb
Carson started the game for Gatorball 14u, and cruised through 6 innings. He dealt with traffic most of the game, but induced a majority of ground ball outs, including 3 double plays. He kept the ball low in the zone, using his FB to both sides of the plate and topping out at 86. His CB was useful ahead in counts to induce weak ground balls and strikeouts. Long is an intriguing 2-way player to watch from this tournament and on.

Jack Torresson
(‘29,FL)
The large framed RHH showed great power in his at bats today. He started the game off by hitting the warning track in LF for a standup double, then followed it up with a triple over the CF head. Torresson has very little movement in his swing and keeps the barrel of the bat in the zone for an extended period. Between his frame and power that was displayed today, he should be someone to keep a close eye on as he continues to add strength with maturity.
