Derek Muñoz, DLC Select 17U (RHP, 2026):


Muñoz showcased the hardest 4SFB of pitchers that threw on Day 1, in addition to averaging 6’8” of extension at a release height of 5’1”.

  • Fastball (4SFB):
  • 94% usage
  • Averaged 88.6 mph, T92
  • Averaged 2230 RPM and in tandem with Muñoz’s above average velocity, creates the perception of a harder fastball
  • Sweeper (SW):
  • Averaged 71.4 mph, T71.9
  • Averaged -13.6” of HB and -2.8” of IVB, showcasing a sweeper with above average horizontal break and minimal induced vertical break

Juan Chacon, Future Play Sports 18U (RHP, 2026):


Chacon utilized a two-pitch mix in his outing, throwing a SNK and CH. Chacon’s repertoire allowed him to generate ground balls at an above average rate (8 of his 12 outs recorded were groundouts).

  • Sinker (SNK):
  • 78.4% usage
  • Averaged 84.5 mph, T89.1
  • Averaged 17.4” of HB and 9.8” of IVB
  • Offering a SNK with plus horizontal break and minimal induced vertical break, allowing Chacon to miss the barrel and generate ground balls with ease
  • Changeup (CH):
  • Averaged 77.1 mph, T79.3
  • Averaged 14.6” of HB, .4” IVB, and 1790 RPM


Bryce Goldstein, Elite Squad 17U National (LHP, 2026):


Goldstein’s outing was brief, yet he displayed an interesting two pitch repertoire on his way to registering a well above average 46.2% CSW%.

  • Fastball (4SFB):
  • 84.6% usage
  • Averaged 83.8 mph, T85.2
  • Reached an outstanding 2600+ RPM, generating plus ride and allowing the FB to be perceived as faster than its actual velocity
  • Averaged 7.3” of IVB and -.5” of HB
  • Curveball (CU):
  • T70.1
  • Averaged 2510 RPM, -11.2” of IVB, and 9.3” of HB, generating a CU with plus movement.


Colin Lock, Southern Squeeze 2025 (RHP, 2025):


Lock utilized a four-pitch mix with two distinct breaking pitches, all while reaching 7’5” of extension at a 5’9” average release height.

  • Fastball (4SFB):
  • 59.4% usage
  • Averaged 86.9 mph, T89.9
  • Due to Lock’s above average extension, his 4SFB plays at a higher perceived velocity
  • Averaged 16.6” of IVB, 11.9” of HB, and 2170 RPM - offering solid ride near the top of the strike zone
  • Slider (SL):
  • 18.8% usage (most offered secondary pitch)
  • Averaged 78.8 mph, T80.9
  • Averaged -5.9” of HB and 4.7” of IVB while reaching 2300+ RPM, generating a SL w/ sharp and late movement
  • Curveball (CU):
  • Averaged 75.6 mph, T76.8
  • Averaged -10.1” of HB and -4.8” of IVB while reaching 2340+ RPM, offering a distinctly different look from his SL for the hitter
  • Changeup (CH):
  • Averaged 82.2 mph, T83.3
  • Averaged 14.4” of HB, 6.7” of IVB, and 1470 RPM
  • Due to the extreme difference in spin rate from his 4SFB, Lock’s CH can be difficult for the hitter to recognize (50% whiff%)

Christopher Canady, Richmond Braves 17U Platinum (RHP, 2026):


Canady featured four pitches in a successful outing in which he went 1 2/3 IP and struck out four batters.

  • Fastball (4SFB):
  • 65% usage
  • Averaged 86.3 mph, T88.4
  • Averaged an impressive 18.4” of IVB and 10” of HB, allowing his 4SFB seem faster than its actual velocity
  • Slider (SL):
  • Averaged 76.7 mph, T79
  • Featured tighter movement, as Canady’s SL averaged -2.2” HB and -1.6” of IVB
  • Curveball (CU):
  • Averaged 75.7 mph, T77
  • Averaged -7.5” of IVB and -4.2” of HB
  • Changeup (CH):
  • Averaged 79.5 mph, T80.3
  • Featured above average spin for a CH, as Canady reached north of 2080 RPM.
  • Averaged -.9” of HB and 8.5” of IVB

Christian Villabona, CTG Baseball 2026 (RHP, 2026):


  • Fastball (4SFB):
  • Averaged 83.9 mph, T87.4
  • Averaged 2210 RPM and 14.8” of IVB
  • Along with minimal HB (4.2” of average HB), 4SFB plays with above average ride when thrown at the top of the zone
  • Sweeper (SW):
  • Averaged 74.5 mph, T76.7
  • Reached spin rates north of 2310 RPM
  • Averaged -9.9” of HB and -.5” of IVB
  • Curveball (CU):
  • Averaged 74.4 mph, T74.6
  • Reached spin rates north of 2410 RPM
  • Averaged -6.6” of HB and -7.4” of IVB

Hitters:


Aidan Michaux, Florida Dirtbags 17U (RHH, 2027):


Michaux put on an impressive display of power, hitting three baseballs over 90 mph over the course of the tournament. Notable batted balls include:

  • 2B (99.8 EV, 14.9° LA, 273.8’)
  • Lineout (91.9 EV, 25.6° LA, 314.2’)
  • Lineout (90.1 EV, 18.8° LA, 273’)

Michaux also showcased an uber aggressive approach at the plate, seeing only 2.3 pitches per plate appearance and registering a 100% Z-Swing% on FBs. Despite the approach, Michaux did not strike out all tournament and only swung and missed twice. 


Hank Brown, Richmond Braves 17U Platinum (LHH, 2026):


Brown registered five batted balls over 90 mph, two more than anybody else in the tournament. Notable batted balls include:

  • 1B (97.1 EV, 20.8° LA, 271’)
  • 2B (96.2 EV, 3.9° LA, 106.3’)
  • 3B (93.8 EV, 18.6° LA, 313’)
  • Flyout (90.7 EV, 35.2° LA, 315.5’)

Brown also showed the ability to hit several speeds, as he registered batted balls over 85 mph against the following pitch types: FB, CH, CU. Further, Brown did not strike out at all and only swung and missed once.

Leodan Rodriguez, IS Elite 2026 Pazos (LHH, 2026):


Rodriguez showcased the ability to barrel the baseball, registering the following batted balls over 90 mph:

  • 3B (92.9 EV, 24.4° LA, 332.6’)
  • 2B (90.9 EV, 27° LA, 302.1’)

Rodriguez displayed a patient approach, seeing nearly 5 pitches per plate appearance and swinging at only 14.3% of pitches outside of the zone. Further, Rodriguez crushed fastballs as both of his batted balls over 90 mph were off of 80+ mph fastballs.


Nolan Rolih, Lynx Baseball Scout Team 2027 Marucci (RHH, 2027):


Rolih registered three batted balls over 90 mph, including:

  • Lineout (94 EV, 8.3° LA, 139.8’)
  • 1B (92.2 EV, 4.3° LA, 132.2’)
  • 3B (91.4 EV, 14.5° LA, 225.7’)

Rolih registered batted balls over 90 mph against both fastballs and curveballs, along with not swinging and missing once, showcasing above average adjustability. Furthermore, Rolih only swung at pitches outside of the zone 10.3% of the time, displaying plus patience the plate. Rolih showcased impressive physical tools at the plate and shows serious power potential at the plate with an adjustment in launch angle (average LA: 5.4°).


Dual Threats:


Matias Fischer, CTG Baseball 2026 (SH/RHP, 2026):


Fischer – a University of Miami commit – featured promising two-way potential. As a hitter, Fischer registered two batted balls over 90 mph, including:

  • 2B (98.4 EV, 17.7° LA, 288.8’)
  • 1B (90.9 EV, 14.3° LA, 214.4’)

Fischer also showcased the ability to catch up to faster velocities, as his double was smoked off of a 90 mph FB. In addition to his ability as a hitter, Fischer appeared briefly on the mound in which he utilized a three-pitch mix.

  • Fastball (4SFB):
  • Averaged 85.5 mph, T88.4
  • Reached 2200+ RPM
  • Sweeper (SW):
  • Averaged 73.7 mph, T74.4
  • Averaged over 2430 RPM - along with -10.3” of HB and -3.8” of IVB – creating a sweeper with late, sharp horizontal movement.
  • Changeup (CH):
  • Averaged 81.6 mph, T82
  • Averaged 14.2” of HB and 10.7” of IVB


Micah Irving, Richmond Braves 17U Platinum (RHH/RHP, 2026):


Irving featured a unique repertoire on the mound, as well as power potential at the plate. As a hitter, Irving recorded the following batted balls:

  • Flyout (90.3 EV, 33.4° LA, 308’)
  • Flyout (89.2 EV)

On the mound, Irving featured a two-pitch mix:

  • Cutter (FC):
  • 87.3% usage
  • Averaged 83.2 mph, T86.9
  • Averaged less than 0” of HB and 10.7” of IVB
  • Slider (SL):
  • Averaged 71 mph, T71.3
  • Averaged -8” of HB and -1.1” of IVB
