Pitchers

Felipe Benitez, Archbishop McCarthy High School / Daytona State College (RHP,2026)

Explosive mover working downhill with intent. Sinks into the lower half while riding the backside down the mound, then rotates efficiently over a firm front side. Creates strong direction to the plate with good energy through release.

Fastball (2SFB)

-              Avg Velo: 82.7 mph | T 86.6 mph

-              Avg Spin: 1995 rpm

-              Avg Movement: 13.6” HB / 8.9” IVB

-              Pitch Profile: Arm side run movement traits, lower spin indicates the potential to become a true sinker; high usage pitch. Shows the ability to tie up RHH when staying arm side.

Slider (SL)

-              Avg Velo: 70.5 mph | T 73.0 mph

-              Avg Spin: 1600 rpm

-              Avg Movement: -11.2” HB / 2.8” IVB

-              Pitch Profile: Movement traits projects as slider/sweeper, spin is on the lower end. Shows the traits to become a true swing and miss pitch.

Benitez shows high promise to becoming a bullpen piece at the next level. Refining the pitch profile to Sinker/Sweeper with the ability to tunnel both pitches. This will cause some issues for RHH as they need to protect firm (SK) in and soft (SW) away.

Christopher Vasallo, Doral Academy / Uncommitted (RHP,2027)

Athletic right-hander with a lean, projectable frame from Doral Academy. Clean, low-effort delivery with efficient sequencing through the lower half. Fastball shows life with above-average spin characteristics. Demonstrates present feel for a slider with consistent spin and shape.

Fastball (4SFB)

-              Avg Velo: 87.7 mph | T 90.8 mph

-              Avg Spin: 2106 rpm

-              Avg Movement: 14.0” HB / 11.0” IVB

-              Usage: 65% (22 P) / Whiff%: 30.0% / SwStr%: 13.6%

-              Pitch Profile: Slight arm side run with above average spin. The fastball “gets on” on hitters and has the capability to tie up RHH with the run.

Sweeper (SW)

-              Avg Velo: 76.5 mph | 78.8 mph

-              Avg Spin: 2058 rpm

-              Avg Movement: -13.4” HB / 1.0” IVB

-              Usage: 35% (12 P) / Whiff %: 50% / SwStr%: 16.7%

-              Pitch Profile: East to West movement that can cause a ton of issues for hitters, especially RHH. This is a true swing and miss pitch but can also be used as a “get me over” if commanded properly.

Vasallo averaged a K per inning over his body of work. Good looking uncommitted arm, velocity gains are present in the future. Pitchability shows signs of high-level swing & miss stuff, higher velo (FB) paired with sweeping off speed pitch (SW).

Isaac Vidal, Miami Southridge HS / University of Miami (RHP, 2027)

Strong-bodied right-hander from Miami Southridge with a polished two-pitch mix. Fastball shows quality shape and command in the zone. Slider shows firm, late bite and plays effectively off the fastball. Confident presence with advanced pitchability for the class.

Fastball (4SFB)

-              Avg Velo: 90.4 mph | T93.5 mph

-              Avg Spin: 1990 rpm

-              Avg Movement: 10.1” HB / 14.1” IVB

-              Pitch Profile: Firm velocity that plays up in the zone due to the higher induced vertical break. Commands the pitch well which challenges hitters with perceived velocity.

Slider (SL)

-              Avg Velo: 77.0 mph | T78.1 mph

-              Avg Spin: 1687 rpm

-              Avg Movement: -10.1” HB / 6.3” IVB

-              Pitch Profile: Interesting shaped off-speed pitch, combination of slider and sweep with the horizontal traits. Velocity holds with late movement, offering a wonderful secondary pitch.

The University of Miami commit has a bright future going into college, with another year to mature his body; there maybe be a tick in the velocity. Pitch shape and command will continue to improve, making him a dominate arm in the HS ranks.

Nolan Slaymaker, Columbia High School / Uncommitted (RHP,2028)

Large, physical 6’3”, 230 lb frame with strong presence on the mound. Moves well down the slope and generates heavy fastball action. Shows feel for a slider with late break while maintaining arm speed. High-upside uncommitted arm in the 2028 class.

-              Avg Spin: 2237 rpm

-              Avg Movement: 14.2” HB / 12.6” IVB

-              Usage: 76 % (42 P) / Whiff %: 33% / SwStr%: 14.3%

-              Pitch Profile: Above average spin allows the ball to “get on” hitters, paired with high movement profile on both horizontal and induced vertical break.

Slider (SL)

-              Avg Velo: 75.1 mph | T76.4 mph

-              Avg Spin: 2419 rpm

-              Avg: Movement: -11.4” HB / -7.9” IVB

-              Usage: 20 % (11 P) / Whiff %: 100 % / SwStr%: 18.2%

-              Pitch Profile: Projects to continue as a high swing & miss pitch; high spin paired with solid movement traits. If velocity continues to tick up, it will become a high-end pitch that will cause even more issues for hitters.

Extremely physical player who moves efficiently with intent. His ability to create explosive moves in the frame, pairing with the capability to spin the ball; makes him a hot commodity in the 2028 class.

https://play.ps-baseball.com/player-profile/baseball/055980bc-d826-4055-a262-f8e1f19d712f

Cooper Janke, Cocoa Beach High School / Uncommitted (RHP, 2028)

High-ceiling 2028 arm with an imposing 6’6”, 220 lb frame. Recently returning from Tommy John, showed easy velocity and life on the fastball. Reached 93 mph with downhill angle, creating a difficult at-bat for hitters. Slider flashes potential as a secondary. Big projection remaining and a strong follow in the 2028 class.

Fastball (FB4S)

-              Avg Velo: 91.5 mph | T93.9 mph

-              Avg Spin:1804 rpm

-              Avg Movement: 12.2” HB / 12.4” IVB

-              Usage: 76 % (13 P) / Whiff %: 28.6% / SwStr%: 15.4%

-              Pitch Profile: Velocity is king and Janke shows that in this outing, the movement profile is tight together with low spin.

Slider (SL)

-              Avg Velo: 78.7 mph | T79.1 mph

-              Avg Spin: 2145 rpm

-              Avg Movement: -6.5” HB / -2.6” IVB

-              Pitch Profile: Tight movement profile (Bullet SL), above average spin for the pitch. Traits show a swing & miss pitch with firmness.

Highly projectable arm with the metrics to back it, the FB velocity overlooks the movement traits but pairs it with a tight late breaking SL to help keep hitters off balance. The frame suggests a velocity jump in the future as he continues to mature. Must see arm in the 2028 class.

Gonzalez hit 3 balls over 101 mph, which was the most 100+ exit velocities of the event. His Launch Angles were between 27-40º throughout those swings, resulting in extra base hits. He shows a high Launch Angle profile, which he can continue if he compresses the baseball at this rate. Projects as a middle of the order bat at the next level.

Athletic catcher with relaxed setup and simple takeaway. Hands work efficiently to elevated pitches and generates lift through contact. Shows present feel for the barrel.

Sosa shows present barrel awareness; he clocked 3 balls north 94 mph with a more LD launch angle. Matching his swing mechanics, the data supports hit ability to continue this tread. He looks to work through the middle of the field by using his hands to direct the barrel to match plane.

https://play.ps-baseball.com/player-profile/baseball/d34ed3ac-8e9b-404f-b32f-9b85ddcc6928
