Ryan Kessner • RHP • 2025
Kessner displayed one of the most impressive outings of the entire tournament. T85 w/ his FB, he dominated hitters in this outing, working away to RHH w/ the FB and tunneling his breaking pitches. This approach allowed Kessner to not only control the strike zone but also garner swings and misses at a well above average rate, registering an impressive CSW% of 51% (avg CSW% this tournament: 23.5%). Fueled by 28 swinging strikes (next closest pitcher: 18 swinging strikes) and 16 called strikes, hitters were consistently behind in the count. Further, his FB had 12” of average HB and 16.8” of average IVB in this outing, making it difficult for hitters to barrel (69.1 mph avg EV against). Kessner threw a dominant 7 IP complete game, only allowing 4 baserunners and striking out 12 in a 1-0 win for Vipers Baseball 17u.[i]

Santiago Sevilla • RHP • 2029
Sevilla heavily leaned on his FB (76% usage), which averaged 84 mph, T86.6. Further, Sevilla also displayed a SL that T78.8 and had an average spin rate of 2430+ RPM. Sevilla displayed a tendency to utilize his FB middle to middle away to RHH. While his outing was brief (1 IP, 1K), Sevilla showcased a 2-pitch mix and displayed the ability to spin the baseball at an above average rate.

Juan Tabio • LHH • 2028
Tabio showcased a unique display of power over the course of the tournament. Along with registering a maximum exit velocity of 95.63 mph, Tabio had two more batted balls over 90 mph (5) than the next closest player (3) and each of these batted balls were hit to the opposite field. Further, Tabio was able to cover an entire range of velocities, as he registered the following batted ball events:
· 3B off a CB (95.63 mph EV)
· 3B off a SL (94.42 mph EV)
· 2B off a FB (91.32 mph EV)
He also only struck out once during the entire tournament. Only a 2028 graduate, Tabio possesses a rare combination of power to the opposite field and the ability to cover a variety of different pitch types, all while limiting swings and misses.

** Glossary**
FB: Fastball
SL: Slider
T#: Top (max velocity of a pitch)
Spin rate: The rate at which a baseball spins after released by the pitcher
RPM: Revolutions per minute
CSW%: Called strikes plus whiff percentage
+ CSW&: Swinging Strikes+Called Strikes/Total Number of Pitches
+Since not every strike is necessarily a called strike, this statistic is important:
- Showcases how well a pitcher can stay within the strike zone
- Showcases how a pitcher can force hitters to swing and miss at pitches outside of the strike zone
