Kaden Michaels, Foothills Prospects (2026, RHP/RHH)


In the North Carolina Open, Kaden Michaels shown as a dual threat on the mound and at the plate. A RHP in the 2026 class, Michales utilizes a FB/SL combo, mixing in the occasional  changeup. Michaels boasted the highest Average FB velocity of the tournament at 85.5MPH, T88.5 MPH. His FB gets great arm side run with 17.8HB, and 8.5IVB. This is complemented by heavy glove side movement on his SL, averaging an incredible -21.1 inches of horizontal break. The following graph visualizes this movement profile, showing immense contrast between the FB and SL, making both pitches incredibly difficult to hit. 

Michaels also excelled at the plate as 1 of 5 hitters with 2 or more batted balls with Exit Velocities above 90 MPH. Michales most notable hit had an Exit Velo of 97.4 MPH, and traveled 263.2 Ft, resulting in a double. 


Mason Harrell, Foothills Prospects (2026, RHP)


A RHP, in the 2026 class, Harrell throws a FB and CU. Harrell’s FB averaged 77.6 MPH, T80.5 MPH. His FB generates an impressive 15.2 inches IVB on average. Harrell stands out for his elite spin on his CU, with an average SpinRate of 2691 RPM, the highest in the tournament.  This CU has a filthy pitch shape with -11.8 inches IVB, and -14.8 inches HB, resulting in a 30% CSW%. 


Emerson Rhodes, Queen City Corndogs (2026, RHP)


Emerson Rhodes put an impressive three pitch arsenal on display during the North Carolina Open. Rhodes threw one of the best fastballs in the tournament, with an average velocity of 85.5MPH, T86.9MPH. His power fastball had 16 inches of IVB with around 2000 RPM’s making it tough to hit. His Changeup came in at 78.6 MPH, with 10 inches of Horizontal movement. Notably, he was effective at dropping the Spin Rate on his CH down to just 1282 RPM, making it very deceptive. He complimented both these pitches with an above average slider, with -10.2 inches HB thrown at 76.8 MPH. This pitch mix consistently fooled hitters, resulting in a CSW% of 33% on his FB, 40% on his CH, 44% on his SL, which was 2nd best in the tournament. Below shows Rhode’s pitch location, exemplifying above average command with the ability to keep the ball out of the heart of the strike zone. 

Matthew Blume, Regulators Baseball Club 2026, (2026, RHP)


In the 2026 class, Blume builds his arsenal off a good fastball (Avg: 84.3MPH, T88.1 MPH), with great vertical and horizontal movement (15.2IVB, 10.8HB). His strikeout pitch is his SL with -11.1 HB, and plus spin (2447 RPM). At 76.8 MPH it delivered an incredible 58.3 CSW%. With a 75% Raw Whiff Percentage, it was nearly unhittable. Blume occasionally went to an underutilized CH, with an amazing 18 inches of Horizontal Break, showing great potential to develop his arsenal. The following shows the impressive movement profile:

Carter Bowman, Queen City Corndogs (2026, RHP)


A RHP, Bowman is one of few to effectively utilize a true four-pitch mix. Throughout the tournament, Bowman threw a FB, CH, CU, and SL. His FB averaged 82.4 MPH, T86, with one of the best pitch shapes (17.0 IVB, 11.9 HB). He directly complemented his High IVB FB with a bullet slider (3.1IVB, 0.2HB), and continued to impress with great movement on his CB (-7.2 IVB) and CH (12.8 HB). While some pitches are mistagged, it is clear that Bowman possesses incredible ability to move pitches along the Y-axis, making it incredibly deceptive to hitters. This was evident by a CSW% of 53% on his CU. 

Grayson Broadway, RBC Regulators National 15U (2028, LHP)


At only 15 years old, Broadway lit up the North Carolina open, relying heavily on a power fastball. The LHP throws a FB with average Velo at 80.9MPH, T86.1 MPH. The FB has the 9th highest IVB of the tournament for any age group, at 17.14 inches. While utilizing the FB 83% of the time, he still mixed in impressive Sliders and Curveballs. His SL (69.8 MPH, T71) averages 11.4 inches of horizontal movement -7 inches of IVB. Clearly effective, with a CSW% of 42.9%.


Gavin Mosler, Lynx Baseball Southeast Victus (2027, C)


Gavin Mosler swung an impressive bat throughout the North Carolina Open. Mosler hit three balls above 80 MPH, with two above 90 MPH resulting in a double and a triple. Notable Batted Balls: 

  • 3B (90.01 EV, 21.82° LA, 321.33’)
  • 2B (90.7 EV, 20.9° LA, 283.58’)

Mosler hit an impressive 66.7% Line-Drive rate during the tournament.

LJ Williams, Lake Norman Thunder, (2027, RHH)



Williams was productive at the plate with 4 singles and a double, with the second hardest hit ball of the tournament at 99.4 MPH, carrying over 310 Ft. He was one of five hitters with two batted balls with Exit Velo’s over 90 MPH. 


Carson Rivenbark, Lake Norman Thunder (2027, RHH)


Carson Rivenbark was one of the most productive hitters in the tournament with 6 batted balls hit over 80 MPH, and 2 hit over 90 MPH. Rivenbark hit 5 balls over 235 ft, showing immense consistency. On 10 batted balls, Rivenbark had a Line Drive Rate of 37.5%, and the spray chart his ability to hit the ball up the middle of the field, leading to 5 base hits throughout the tournament. 

Wesley DeWitt, Lynx Baseball Southeast Victus (2027, LHH)


DeWitt was another amongst the small group of hitters to hit two balls over 90 MPH. He complimented this with another batted ball over 85 MPH, and a fourth over 80 MPH, demonstrating his ability to make hard contact. DeWitt’s hardest hit ball was a line drive at 96 MPH. His spray chart shows his impressive ability to hit the ball to the opposite field.
