Experience:

Evan joined Prospect Select in 2021 and currently serves in a variety of roles within the company. Most notably acting as Director of Showcases and Director of the Collegiate League of the Palm Beaches (CLPB). Additionally, he serves as Tournament Director for the Midwest and Spring Training at Space Coast events. 


Prior to joining Prospect Select, Agona spent 16 years coaching at the collegiate level, including 7 seasons as a Head Coach. He also ran Agona Baseball Camps conducting over 30 camp and showcase events in the Midwest scouted by 60+ college/pro organizations. 


Evan served as the Head Coach at Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C) in Cleveland, Ohio where he took a relatively unknown program and turned them into one of the top JUCO programs in the region. In his first 5 seasons at Tri-C he amassed a record of 206-77-1 (.725), including 4 consecutive NJCAA Region XII Tournament appearances while setting a school record 47 wins in a season and winning the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference. The team appeared in the national rankings each season and dominated at home going 114-14 over that time, including an undefeated season of 29-0.


Prior to Tri-C, Agona spent 5 years as an Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator at the University of Mount Union and began his coaching career at Thiel College (PA) where he served as an Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator for 4 years. He has also served as the Head Coach of Mercyhurst University-Northeast (PA) and Slippery Rock Area High School (PA) for one season each. 


All in all, Evan has coached 74 All-Conference, 19 All-Region, and 7 All-American selections. He has also coached 2 Player of the Year selections, a Pitcher of the Year, and a National Glove Gold Winner. Five (5) of his former players have moved on to play professionally, and he assisted in placing over 70 JUCO players in 4-year programs.


Agona was a four-year letter winner, and part of two North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) championship teams, while playing at The College of Wooster where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Economics in 2004. He earned a master’s degree in Sport Management from Slippery Rock University (PA) in 2008.
